Theophilus College of Nursing was named after the saintly Bishop Theophilus, who was a motivating force and the promoter of MGDM Hospital, Kangazha. Mar Gee Varghese Dionysious Memorial Hospital, (MGDM Hospital) Kangazha (established in 1964) has a prominent place in the health sector of Kerala especially Kottayam district. From its humble beginning as a small dispensary to maintain the health care needs of a rural community, MGDM Hospital has become a multi disciplinary institution. MGDM Hospital renders not only hospital based services but also preventive and promotive health care and also aimed at the educational and comprehensive development and welfare of the community .
