Al Shifa College of Nursing, Perinthalmanna has started functioning in 2002 with first BSc Nursing Batch having an intake of 60 Students. Later Post Basic BSc was started with an intake of 30 seats. After that MSc Nursing was stated with an annual intake of 16 seats having 4 seats each in 4 specializations.

The College has a view to prepare nurses competent in providing comprehensive nursing care based on scientific principles so as to meet the increasing needs of the country. The Al Shifa College of Nursing has been recognized by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi, Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council and is affiliated to the Kerala University of Health & Allied Sciences . The Al Shifa College of Nursing has been recognized as Minority Educational Institution by the National commission for Minority Education Institutions, Government of India in the year 2008.
