The college is affiliated to Kerala University of Health & allied Sciences (KUHAS) recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC) and Kerala Nurses & Midwives Council (KNC). BSc Nursing admissions are based on allotments . 50% from state merit , 35% from management seat , 5% NRI seats and 10% foreign students quota. For Post Basic BSc Nursing 50% from state merit , 40% from management quota and 10% for NRI Quota. The students can easily be reachable at the college either by bus or by train. The college is 10 km away from Ernakulam Junction railway station and 12 km from Ernakulam KSRTC bus station. College provide clinical training at Medical College alappuzha , General Hospital Ernakulam, Govt Hospital Kacheripady , Mental Health Centre Thrissur , Govt Maharajas Hospital , Karuvelipady , Womens & Childrens Hospital Mattancherry. General Hospital Ernakulam is a 783 bedded hospital with a bed occupancy of 540 - 600 per day and out patient strength of 540 - 600 per day. Govt Maharajas Hospital , Karuvelipady is a 210 bedded hospital. As per Government order , Post Basic BSc Nursing College at SI - MET College of Nursing , Thrippunithura was merged to SI - MET College of Nursing Palluruthy , Ernakulam District.
