Diamond Harbour Government Medical College and Hospital was started in December, 1974 under the name of Diamond Harbour Sub-divisional Hospital. The College has 4 year B Sc nursing degree program having an intake of 100 seats. The College is affiliated to West Bengal Nursing Council and West Bengal university of health science. The College is approved by Indian Nursing Council and West Bengal Nursing Council. Qualified and experienced full time faculty provides the right makes of inputs comprising of theoretical practical and clinical experience. The College has well infrastructure including furnished and ventilated classrooms, internet facility, modern computer lab. Students have access to study materials in different form such as books, research journals, magazines, newspapers and e-books at well furnished library. The College provides transportation service to the students and staff from different locations. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. Each Hostel has warden who are responsible for the day-to-day functioning. The hostels are managed by the chief wardens, assisted by Wardens and other hostel staff. The students get all the essential amenities in hostel.
